Marydee Sklar Classes at West Hills

Marydee Sklar is returning to West Hills this spring to teach her Executive Functioning Course to our interested families. This class may especially be of interest to you if your child struggles with any one of the following: lack of focus, late assignments, difficulty managing multiple tasks or completing tasks, or needs multiple reminders.

The Introductory Class is on Tuesday, March 12, from 7:00-8:15pm in the 7th/8th grade large classroom. This class is a “stand-alone class,” and open to any parent curious about organizational skills and the “thinking” behind it. The cost for West Hills families is $10 per family.

The 7-Week Tuesday Night Class runs from April 2 - May 14, from 7:00-8:30pm in the science lab. The cost for West Hills families is $250 for one parent and one child. Additional family members are $20 each.

Marydee does require a minimum of eight full paying families in order to conduct the class. For more information and to register online, click here to visit her website.

Honored Guest Morning

This Friday, February 15th will be a great time for our students to show their guest around the school that they work so hard at each and every day. RSVPs are not necessary. I'm looking forward to meeting all of the visitors on that day! If you have any questions about the event, please let me know.

Subscribe to whcs.org

I created a tutorial video for the school website this past week to show how to subscribe to the News & Events page and the Athletics page at whcs.org. If you haven't subscribed to the West Hills website, please stay informed by clicking on the video to the right to watch the steps to subscribe by email. Thank you!

Student Google Accounts

Recent weeks have been exciting for the students, as they have been logging in to their new WHCS Student Google Accounts! Students must remember the importance of keeping passwords private. I have put a link on the left sidebar of my website for students to directly log in to their student email. They are also encouraged to subscribe to these newsletters in the student section of the Subscribe by Email page. Just so parents know, I have the ability to reset student passwords if I need to. Mrs. Larson and I started the conversation with the students about Email Etiquette, so parents please ask your child about how to appropriately send emails. Let's all be responsible with this wonderful technological gift and use it in a way that glorifies Jesus!
