Newsletter: Week 17 of 37

Wired For Reading course
January 13 - 17, 2014

Last week was a busy one for me, as I stayed late after school for a couple of days to finish up report cards, and I also stayed late after school for a couple of days to participate in a Wired For Reading course. The 3-day class concluded on Saturday, as we learned a variety things to help us teach spelling, grammar, and writing more clearly. For this week, please read the announcements below. Remember plastic bottles for Science Lab!

Mrs. Swain reminded the students to bring a plastic water bottle (or any other beverage that has been cleaned out) to Science Lab this Thursday, the 16th. It must have a small opening in the top, not large like a Gatorade bottle opening. Please begin bringing them in. The students may use a Sharpie to write their names on them and store them in the classroom until Thursday.

New System for Delivering Consequences

On Monday I will post details about my new system for delivering consequences to the students. I have already communicated this to the students, so if any parents want to ask them what the new consequences are after receiving a warning in class, feel free to ask them how they will be kept accountable. Details to follow...
