Newsletter: Week 34 of 37

We're learning leadership with our reading buddies
May 22 - 25, 2017

It has been a while since the students have taken a day off, but the week has finally arrived! No school on Friday this week, as we will have a long, 4-day Memorial Day Weekend. In the classroom, we have wrapped up MAP and move forward to wrapping up the last few units and chapters we have left. We're doing our very best until the very end!! Make it a great week, everyone!

Topics to Talk About at Home

Discuss what challenges our class has faced with being leaders to our reading buddies this year. It is a struggle to help redirect the 1st graders back to their books if they are distracted, want to talk, or play instead of read. What have the 5th graders learned? What strategies have they used to help encourage a passion for reading?
