Progress Reports

On Wednesday, February 13th, the 2nd trimester progress reports will be emailed home. I am just about caught up with grading and getting settled back in since being gone for paternity leave, so I will send home updated missing work lists as soon as I am able to. Since many students have been absent due to illness, it is especially important to continue checking the homework calendar on my website in order to stay up-to-date with assignments.

Honored Guest Morning

Just a reminder that Honored Guest Morning is coming up in a couple of weeks, Friday, February 15th. It will be a great time for our students to show their guest around the school that they work so hard at each and every day. RSVPs are not necessary. I'm looking forward to meeting all of the visitors on that day! If you have any questions about the event, please let me know.

Term 2 Book Report

Last week I gave the students information about their second book report assignment. They will be required to choose a biography or autobiography to read. The book also must be about a person that displays some sort of Christ-like qualities. For example, Albert Einstein was a creative physicist who was influential by contributing many helpful ideas to the world. Jesus was also creative and influential, and he contributed quite a large number of helpful ideas to the world. :-) In the book report, each student will find connections between their own life and the person in their book. Sorry, no books about serial killers or anything like that. Books must be read by March 1st, and book reports will be due March 15th. I will talk with the students about it in greater detail as time goes on.
